About

Nehal Dalgliesh

You made it to the ‘About’ page – Welcome!

Yes, that’s Nehal (rhymes with Amal, the humanitarian superstar married to George). She’s an award-winning Australian-Iranian news presenter (formerly Mix106.5, The Edge96.1 & 101.7WSFM), journalist, voiceover artist, author (A Kids Book About Kindness Online), the founder of CelebrityKind News, a chocoholic, an Opraholic, and a proud mum-of-3.

She’s interviewed some awesome people over the years including Hugh Jackman, Cate Blanchett, The Rock and Matt Damon and loved learning about how they’re all giving back to people and communities in need.

In 2019, Nehal started CelebrityKind, Australia’s first gossip-free platform exploring the kindness, humanitarian work and latest creative projects of celebrities. Ever since, she has dedicated her career to fostering kind spaces in the media and online, and teaching readers and journalists across the globe how to be conscious consumers and creators of content.

Nehal has received a number of awards for her work including Best News Presenter by the Australian Commercial Radio Awards, making her the first of woman of colour to achieve the honour.

When she’s not working, you’ll find Nehal dancing to J-Lo, decoding Taylor Swift lyrics, watching old episodes of ‘Oprah’ or hanging with the people she loves.

About CelebrityKind:

CelebrityKind.com is a human space in pop culture.

You’ll notice there are no intrusive paparazzi photos on the site, only ones where celebs have implied consent like at red carpet events. You won’t find any photos of the children of celebrities either (hell yes to Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard’s #NoKidsPolicy) unless they are public figures themselves and even then, we think about the impact of sharing the photos first. You won’t read stories that body-shame or tear women down or pit people against each other. We don’t do baby/wedding news until the celebrities themselves are ready to share that info (because we believe in privacy and allowing them to share personal stuff on their own terms). And you won’t find any gossip or stories from unnamed mystery sources because playing with people’s lives and mental health for entertainment and clicks just doesn’t sit right with us.

So… what’s left?

Content that recognises celebrities as the humans they are. The stuff that celebrates their hearts, their minds and their craft.

And sure, we’ll throw in the odd story about Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds pranking each other, because celebrity news was always meant to be fun!

Through CelebrityKind, Nehal’s hope is to create pop culture content that inspires and entertains, but also generate awareness about how the media we click on, respond to and share ultimately shapes the world we live in.
